Cleaning out your inbox

I've talked about cleaning out your house and decluttering your life with physical objects, but there are so many other aspects to simple living and getting organized in our lives today, including your email inbox.

Has your inbox ever looked like this? Mine has on more then one occasion. It becomes too daunting of a task to even think about sitting down for an hour and going through old and new emails to decide what to keep and what not to.

Here are a few tips that have helped me as I strive to keep my inbox close to 0.

1. Make folders and sort the emails you want to hang onto for further use. There is nothing more frustrating  then trying to find an email with information you need and having to look through hundreds of them to find it.

2. Take the time one day while watching tv, etc to actually open all of the "junk" emails and "unsubscribe." This stops them from even coming so they won't build up and need to be sorted or deleted.

3. Be careful of what you sign up for. If you really don't want to deal with deleting lots of junk email, then don't enter your email address where it will be sold off to other companies.

This is just one more thing to help keep your life simple and less chaotic. Happy deleting!
