I had to run and get some groceries the other day and my brain wasn't up to it's full operating power after a full day in the sun. I didn't even realize I had forgotten my reusable shopping bags until I was headed to the checkout. I *cringe* had to use plastic grocery bags. I usually have at least one reusable bag in my purse at all times, but I had forgotten to put it back in after the last use.
Even using my reusable bags can be a challenge so it's awesome that so many out there continue to use them. I rarely encounter an employee that is accepting of helping me out. If my items exceed more then one bag, he/she is usually in such a rush that my items get thrown into the plastic bags anyway, and I have to extract them and bag them myself. That or he/she is just plain rude about it and practically throws the items at me to bag myself.
It's a wonder we bother at all...
