I read this quote and loved it. So I want to share:
"A rallying cry of sustainable living is “live with less.” Less buying, less stuff, less clutter, less cheap junk, less consumerism. When our possessions are limited, so is the time that it takes to care for them. Freedom from “stuff” goes along with an increase in time and energy to give to things that are truly important." -Keeper of the Home
This is so true. I spend most every day trying to find ways for more quality time for myself and with my family instead of cleaning!
As you read, yesterday was my birthday. The only "stuff" I got and will hang on to is a new shirt (which I picked out myself!). As for my husband, he really stepped up and gave me the best gift ever and definitely respected my new goal of "living with less". He gave me a stack of coupons for getting out of things like cooking dinner, dishes, etc. So WONDERFUL!!!!
We are continuing our goal of cleaning out the house and have really started to help my son understand that he needs to respect the things he owns and doesn't need a new toy every time we go to the store (his grandparents have truly spoiled him).
I hope everyone knows that we each have our own struggles and all we can do is work toward bettering ourselves, those around us and helping out the world one small step at a time.Good luck! And as always, share any ideas you have.
