Party plates

It's at that time of year again when we start heading outdoors for camping, bbqs and other gatherings that involve eating.

The easiest thing to do is to run out and grab a stack of paper plates for your guests. This isn't the "greenest" solution. I have a stack of nice glass plates that I purchased years ago at a dollar store. They have saved me countless dollars over the years by not having to buy paper plates every time we had more than four guests over to eat. They work great for parties, showers, etc. and go right back in the cabinet for easy access.

Although reusable plates are the best option, sometimes they are just not practical. As much as I love to save money and avoid fill the dump with more paper plates, taking a stack of glass plates on a camping trip just isn't an option. That's why so many suppliers are now seeing the demand for products people can feel good about purchasing that won't do more harm to the environment. There are now numerous options of "eco-disposable" plates out there that you can purchase for camping or extra large gatherings outdoors!

I hope everyone had a great Mother's Day, I know I did. And have fun with all the parties this summer and remember to plan ahead to avoid unnecessary waste!
