As much as I hate to admit it, I'm a big scaredy cat. Even though I've always slept with my room dark, I like to leave various lights on in the house. It got really bad when I had Josh. He wasn't a good sleeper so I would leave lights on so I didn't have to worry about it being too dark for me to see when I would have to get him in the middle of the night for bottles, etc.
I have been doing much better lately with making sure the lights are off. Most of the time the only ones left on during the night are the porch light and Josh's night light. (I'm still too paranoid to turn off the porch light. Safety first!)
We have made a goal to turn everything off when not in the room, including fans and lights. This is a great way to conserve energy and save money!
