Errands. Such a dirty word. But it's something we all have to do. Grocery shopping, car pool, kids events, post office, drug store... I could go on and on about the amount of errands I have on any given week. I have now decided to be smart about it. Here are a few of my ideas. If you have some, please share!
1. Map out where you are going. Write it down or just think about all the different places you need to go during the week and group all the ones together that are in the same part of town. This saves time and gas which helps your sanity and the air we all breathe.
2. Ask yourself if it is really something that you need to do or purchase. Most of the time I end up deciding that I'm better off not even going at all.
3. Take healthy, low-waste snacks for you and the children including water bottles filled from home. That way you won't end up in a drive-thru or grabbing a water bottle while shopping.
4. Schedule it. Most people have some sort of electronic device with them at all times that has a calendar and note pads. Use the calendar for what you are going to do on what day and the note pad to create your shopping lists. Think of all the paper you will save on printing calendars and endless shopping lists. There are a lot of Apps out there that can even help you out.
