Thermostat check

In our married life, we have always been the type of people to have the air conditioning turned very low. We like the house cold since life in the South can be very hot and sweaty. When I was in high school, we moved from a very mild climate out West to North Carolina. During the summer. I don't know how I survived. When I would go to friends houses, we had to play outside. Their parents wouldn't allow the kids in and out to waste the cooled air. One of my favorite movie lines is from Sweet Home Alabama. Fred Ward's character ushers everyone inside his house saying "Let's not let out all of the bought air." Ha! Classic.

Since the temperatures have again begun to rise, we have done much better with using other resources to cool our house and not have the thermostat turned so low. On cool nights we open windows and use fans in every room to help circulate the air. This week has especially been helpful since it's been so chilly outside that we haven't even thought of having the air conditioning going.

Stay cool this summer, but look for ways to use less power in doing so!
